As a civil engineer intern I designed and coordinated most aspects of Valhalla Engineering Group's civil requirements for their projects. This included site layout, grading and utility design in accordance with VA design standards and Valhalla's standards of practice. I created demolition, grading, site, and utility plans for the projects Valhalla had with civil scope.With guidance from the civil engineers above me, I designed site and utility layouts to maximize the site potential while coordinating with the owner's to ensure future development was considered. I analyzed developments for hydrologic implications and designed stormwater facilities to meet design criteria. Most of the projects were on federal sites with their own design criteria and budget issues, so all aspects of the design had to be coordinated with other disciplines to ensure cohesion.
