I attended Pitzer College, particularly for its focus on environmental sustainability and social responsibility, although I graduated with physics and mathematics as my major and minor, respectively. I focused heavily in environmental studies and economics; Topics like food production and supply chain, energy production and usage, and calculations of "Green" GDP were some of the most interesting. While abroad in Beijing, China, my ChinaGreen program focused entirely on energy production & environmental policy. I was able to gather research on air quality and social impact by surveying university students. I even had the opportunity to tutor young students and was introduced to acupuncture as I continued learning the language--allowing me to later work for a Chinese-speaking acupuncturist after returning to California.I've worked professionally in the restaurant industry and, most recently, in the health industry. I have found each to fulfill my desire to provide a basic need to another human. However, I am looking to make a larger impact with my work: Whether to feed or fuel, to teach or heal, I look to have my efforts truly assist my fellow humans and community at large.
