Have spent the last 19+ years in the security industry working various types of security from Loss prevention both contract and in house to Uniformed security at various high profile sites including Cambridge city hall, African lions safari, Conestoga mall in Waterloo and currently am the security supervisor at the University of Waterloo School of pharmacy located in downtown Kitchener. I have spent 8 years in retail loss prevention where I worked for various companies including HBC mainly at Zellers stores. Where I lowed the store losses from 1.97% of sales to 1.05% of sales. I implemented various policies and procedures at my store to lower the losses. As the site supervisor I work with both the company and the client to ensure the site is safe secure for all employees as well as guests. I coordinate with events to ensure that proper security is in place. I have completed various courses over my 19 years including a fraud prevention course at Conestoga College, HBC training course on how to train new employees. Taught new employees fraud prevention strategies while working on cash. Conducted background checks of potential new employees within HBC. Completed my NVCI training while with Zellers where I learned defensive tactics and crisis management. Completed my first-aid CPR. I finished in the top 5 out of 13 Zellers locations in the district every year that I worked at Zellers. As a security site supervisor I am responsible for 4 other employees at the site and I work with both campus police and the company to that policies and procedures are being followed and all health and safety is being met at the site. I have completed both the employee and supervisor training module on line for worker health and safety awareness in 4 steps as well as the Supervisor health and safety awareness in 5 steps.
