• I bred, genotyped, maintained, and performed qRT-PCR and Western blotting of a cardiac-specific AQP7-null mouse colony• I cloned and transfected rat and mouse AQP7 into neonatal rat ventricular myocytes (NRVMs)• I assessed NRVM uptake of radiolabeled glycerol in response to Burmese Python serum/fatty acids• Characterized transcription levels for gene signaling associated with cardiac hypertrophic response to Burmese python fatty acids
