• Responsible for incident response, maintenance and the implementation of the Operations Critical Data Network Optical Fibre Cable Networks• Ensure installation schedules are delivered in accordance with customer projected times, Sydney Trains Service Delivery targets and priorities.• Liaise with other field staff to ensure satisfactory delivery of cable works. This includes ensuring customers are kept informed of the status of the work affecting their services.• Maintain records of time and materials used for write up and in relation to cost recovery on work undertaken for customers.• Coach and support Apprentices and other team members as required. Recommend further development of individuals to the Supervisor or Cable Specialist.• Accountable for preparation, jointing and termination tasks for smaller installations or as part of a team for larger projects on Optical Fibre and Copper Cables.• Performing precision cable splicing on the Optical Fibre Network to ensure network integrity standards are maintained.• Provide input to the Cable Network Specialist on practical issues around best method to repair cables.• Execute safety responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities consistent with Sydney Trains safety management system requirements which are defined in SMS document number SMS-02-RG-3058.
