To enable Odfjell’s commitment to increase activity levels in the Australia and New Zealand market, I was appointed to establish a Melbourne office from the ground up. Leading growth, business development and sales strategies, I provide strategic partnership to customers across sectors, including mining, energy and resources, tailoring products and services to meet requirements while ensuring commercial viability and operational compliance. In addition, I support strategic planning and logistics across global operations, engaging with partner offices to understand challenges and troubleshoot issues. Representing the company across industry, I also liaise with government bodies including the ATO, AMSA, port authorities and industry regulators, actively working with port agents and customers to optimise efficiency and prioritise safety.• Built the Melbourne office from the ground up to provide a local presence in growing the ANZ region;• Grew both revenue and activity volumes year on year in an increasingly competitive market, building robust customer relationships and providing tailored services; • Expanded the customer base, securing and maintaining preferred supplier status with key players such as IXOM, Insidetech Limited, Waterfront, Aragon, JB Swift, GrainCorp, Manildra and Redox;• Nurture an environment of continuous improvement and safety excellence, providing leadership and support to stakeholders globally incl. partners, ports, customs and regulators.

Engaged to provide commercial representation for Odfjell, I also led the negotiation and management of dry cargo contracts of affreightment and competitive accounts. Presenting the business to potential clients and discussing the main terms of a contract or sale, I drove deal negotiation and saw contracts through to their conclusion. Developing and maintaining a client portfolio, I build rapport and relationships with customers to maintain and win new business as a strategic business partner. Throughout this period, I won and worked with key customers across the mining, resources and energy sectors, including AWB Ltd, Hi-Fert Pty Ltd, Alcoa, Rio Tinto, BHP and Olympic Dam.

With the maintenance of ISO:9002 critical to P&O maintaining key customer accounts, I was appointed to ensure the Australian offices of subsidiaries Anderson Hughes and Beaufort Shipping retained their QA certification. I provided leadership around processes in a service environment to identify areas for improvement and planned the audit schedule across Australia. Engaging with stakeholders across all levels and teams, within and outside of quality assurance, I sought to instil a culture of quality, compliance and continuous improvement.• Retained ISO certification across all sites for 5 consecutive years, passing all external audits held on a 6-month basis;• Led key improvement projects, such as the streamlining of the invoicing process, to improve productivity and customer satisfaction;• Structured the quality assurance manual and other documentation, reviewing and streamlining over time to ensure ongoing compliance.
