I collated compound orders, ran them through programme specific assays across several technologies and equipment. After which I ran data analysis and communicated results with the programme teams. One of the regular screening assays was one which I developed. Alongside this I wad involved in the department’s cell painting platform running screens for programme teams as well as increasing department capability in this area and getting the process onto automated platforms. As a workcell supervisor, I had responsibility over a lab area for which I was involved in testing, procurement, and installation of new equipment. Additionally, I was responsible for the inducting and training of other scientists to work in the lab. When I transferred from my previous role, I was responsible for training my replacement in that role. At Perkin Elmer I carried out regular safety screening assays for the SPMB department at GSK Stevenage. I kept compounds to specified 2 or 6 weeks turn around times, across different technologies (imaging, mass spectrometry, luminescence) and had a hand in primary and non-primary cell culture. Worked as part of the vaccine booking team during the initial roll out of the Covid-19 vaccine to the staff at the hospital. The role included making and taking calls to book staff for the vaccine ensuring to get as many staff vaccinated as possible. Even working Christmas day to get everyone booked in and the vaccines used. For the summer of 2021 I am returning to work in the same office but this time as a receptionist as I look for graduate employment.

Working as one of the club social secs means that I organise within my team the weekly socials aswell as larger events like tournaments and team meals at end of year and christmas. This includes; venue and transport booking, activity planning and ensuring the events run smoothly on the day. On my first social incharge we broke the club record for money spent. Working applicant visit days and open days as a subject ambassador for biological sciences. The role was extremely enjoyable meeting students who were applying to join the university, sharing my experience and answering questions they had. This role also involved sitting in on interviews for students being considered for an unconditional offer.

As a college ambassador I attended two open days and spoke to visitors about lancaster university, college life and why Bowland college is the best college at Lancaster university. Standing at a stall in a job fair type format was enjoyable and played to my strengths of public speaking and confidence.

I worked as a volunteer at the after school club through the council for a period of 6 weeks.

Helped in the foundation year doctor change over, ensuring that all necessary paperwork was completed. As well as, helping out at recruitment open days, talking to members of the public interested in joining the hospital.
