About Adam Basile
I moved to Denmark for an MSc, intending to settle and progress into an academic or industrial PhD. I chose DTU and Denmark because of the hub for biotechnology innovation that Denmark is, and for the quality of living and way of life to be experienced here. I am currently looking for a partner for said PhD.In all my experiences my natural curiosity, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn have let me thrive. I learned to be efficient and responsible when working independently, but also excel in collaborating on team projects. Having worked and lived here in Denmark, I have adjusted exceptionally well to the Danish work culture and way of living. I am eager to find a partner where I can direct my work ethic towards bringing meaningful impacts and results to further the field of molecular biology. At Fuse Vectors, I run experiments across others’ projects, and my own. This has allowed me to experience many facets of R&D and learn many experimental methods. Running my own projects, I have developed a zero tolerance for error in my lab skills, increasing my adeptness in the lab.At DTU, I have joined the Center for Antibody Technologies, where I’m running a project characterizing nanobodies (NBs) for use as a broadly neutralizing, recombinant antivenom against viperid snake toxins. I am currently performing DELFIA assays to characterize NBs from phage display selections. I will next perform SEC and affinity chromatography to fraction venoms and run calorimetric assays to determine if our NBs neutralize selected toxins. Separately, I am publishing a paper with Dr. John Woodley, detailing my novel ideas to further CAR T cell technologies. In 2020, within Process Sciences (PS) at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, I created a DoE statistical model that links the different steps in the drug-making process together. This allows manufacturing to determine how a deviation in a batch will affect the final output. This could not previously be done in advance of the next unit operation (UO).In 2021, within PS, I created a tool using VBA to predict batch transfer times more accurately. The tool takes final transfer time data, paired to a UO, and creates a correlation. By finding the optimal trendline at current conditions, the model can predict the best transfer time.In 2022, within QA Validation & Operations, I compiled a database of qualification records for all of our controlled temperature units. This extracted from me a thorough attention to detail, a grasp of the importance of proper lab procedure, and an understanding of the gravity of doing things right.

Student Researcher
I worked with Dr. Damien Samways to determine better targets for the uptake of therapeutics in cells. My job was to grow cells, and then run experiments on them using fluorescence cell imaging to identify the best targets for drug uptake.
Tutor And Teaching Assistant
Tutor for Physics, Calculus, and Chemistry Sep 2020 - May 2023TA for Calculus 3, Co-Calc 2, and Calc Foundations Jan 2020 - May 2023
Student Researcher
I worked with Dr. Susan Bailey to create a genomic model through a meta-analysis of results of multiple experimental evolution studies which included populations of bacteria that evolved antibiotic resistance, to identify sites where antibiotic-resistance-conferring mutations occur. The model could be utilized for other species, and the access to this.
