As a member of the SLED team, I focus my energy on building relationships with the state and local government agencies, as well as the educational institutions that will benefit from our services. Hired as a customer service associate to assist the store operations in multiple facets, including point of sale, hard and soft goods sales, and receiving operations. While going through new hire orientation, learned about several company models and business practices based on people treating others well and not just as another sale. Training completed within the company has included product knowledge, operations techniques, customer satisfaction (as well as de-escalation techniques), and sales and other performance measure analysis to enhance operation functionality.

Hired as the fleet manager, which is in charge of the maintenance, records, and property management of all security vehicles associated with Statewide Patrol in the Austin area. Along with maintaining the maintenance of the Austin area vehicles, this position also manages the inventory of the two other company branches (San Antonio and Dallas – Fort Worth) to be used for property tax purposes, inventory control, and overall cost analysis to be prepared in a report to the CFO.

Hired as project manager for a young aspiring construction company with both commercial and residential clients. Worked in various settings and ensured all safety and project details were implemented and adhered to. Worked with vendors, sub-contractors, and other management staff to create budgets, timelines, and personnel schedules to ensure projects were completed on time and within budget. Created systematic procedures to ensure laborers were working efficiently and appropriately while on the company’s time clock.

Hired as Director of Operations for a handyman and renovation services company servicing residential clients in multiple facets of projects. Specialized in all aspects of operations, including bidding projects, material acquisition, equipment management, and personnel scheduling. Management of tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment and responsible for project and material knowledge to ensure proper usage of equipment and type of material. I was the face of the company to the clients we served before, during, and after the project’s completion and ensured all details of the project were explained and payment was remitted.

Split time working as an SRO (School Resource Officer) at multiple campuses and as an evening patrol officer in multiple city regions to cover the department’s needs. Provided security and visual deterrence for more than 125 district properties, which spans across more than 230 square miles, and over 94,000 district employees. Investigated district employees, students, and visitors to determine criminal and administrative violations. Answered calls for service which varied from assisting employees with building access to investigating sexual assault crimes. Conducted interviews on suspects and victims to determine validity of crime(s) committed and generate reports in order to obtain warrants for arrest. Conducted all steps of investigations from receiving call for service through collecting evidence, obtaining a warrant, and making arrests. Was praised by supervisors and defense lawyers alike on ability to fully investigate and maintain control of investigations.

Certified as a Human Intelligence Collector (MOS 35M, HUMINT) through U.S. Army training. Conduct interrogations and use other intelligence gaining tactics to gain information about terrorist and insurgent activities within the area of responsibility. Conduct source operations to covertly obtain intelligence about illegal activities directly related to terrorist and insurgent activities. Debrief commanders and platoon sergeants about valuable intelligence to directly support their mission. Worked as the Brigade HUMINT training coordinator by coordinating scenario and lecture based training classes for all HUMINT soldiers assigned to 1/1 AD, roughly 100 soldiers. Developed and instilled an Intelligence Oversight program which oversees all Intelligence missions conducted by Military Intelligence Soldiers assigned to 1/1 AD, roughly 300 soldiers. Conducted personnel security (PERSEC), physical security, and operation security (OPSEC) responsibilities on a daily basis. Determined eligibility for security clearances, initiated investigations for clearances, made clearance determinations based on findings as a personnel security specialist.

Started working as a bagger/cashier, but moved into the Seafood Department as a specialist. After being mentored by multiple managers on management styles in various departments, became an Assistant Department Manager of the Seafood Department. While in that role, I was responsible for product ordering and maintaining of over $25,000 worth of product and equipment, sales to working employee hour percentages, employee training and mentoring, and monitoring of sales and budget. Prior to leaving the company to start a policing career, was in line for a promotion to Seafood Manager and control of own department within the store after attending a management training class.
