I am a mechanical engineer with a passion for making a positive impact on the everyday lives of human beings around the world. I want to work for an organisation whose products and ethos align with those ambitions, working on projects which aim to reduce our impact on the environment and allow people to understand the social responsibilities of the products they are buying.I want to utilise my ten years experience of engineering, everything from engine emissions testing, project management, and test design and development; bringing that experience and knowledge into an innovative and forward thinking organisation whose values are based around corporate social responsibility. I want to build on this knowledge at an innovative and forward thinking company to ensure that I can become a thought leader and also affect real change in our world.My key career achievements include: • Developing existing tests into four new labs, updating and improving the test method documentation, and leading the development of the hardware and software to improve the usability of the test equipment. Also working with the category manager and design teams to ensure test was fit for purpose and running the repeatability studies to determine the measurement uncertainty. • Delivering an engine exhaust aftertreatment model calibration across six vehicle variants. I was responsible for coordinating five drivers, vehicle workshop tasks, collating all the data, and delivering the calibration updates. Using a MATLAB based program and Simulink for efficient offline calibration. A total of 55,000km of driven data was collected over four months with the final calibration delivered on time for the production release. • Managing vehicles and testing for a project with a vehicle manufacturer to assess their risk of an upcoming change in emissions legislation. Using my emissions testing experience to successfully collect all the required data in the emissions laboratory and on the road. I collaborated with the simulation team to assist with matching the vehicle and emissions data with their simulation inputs. • Overseeing build, testing, and simulation for a 48V mild hybrid demonstrator vehicle (ADEPT).
