This state machine was carried through multiple microprocessors and instruments over the years which allowed for faster development times of new instruments.• Created a serial communication sniffer feature in firmware that could push sent and receive packet data back to the PC for near real time diagnostic and monitoring.• Integrated multiple boards into a single laboratory instrument using different communication protocols from RS232, RS485, USB, SPI and CAN networks.• Created and developed boards of varying functionalities from PWM outputs, Stepper motor drives with encoder feedback, heater control using PID, and interrupt driven inputs.• Worked with several RTOS’s from RTXC, SafeRTOS and FreeRTOS.• Added RS232 serial communication to our bootloader programming scheme to accommodate field programmable flash to a new instrument addition.• Provided C# Windows Applications to help test and trouble shoot board functionalities in development and manufacturing settings.• Worked with various IDE packages such as Visual Studio, Code Composer, CodeWarrior and Visual Gdb. • Helped unify code across multiple product lines code to minimize development time and reduce time needed for bug corrections and feature enhancements.
