I worked at Virgin Money as a mortgage assistant, I would speak to our customer everyday with quires and also if they wanted to switch to a new mortgage deal or if they were looking to do some additional borrowing, I would speak with new or existing customer as well as buy to let customer on a day-to-day basis. I absolutely love working for Virgin Money as it has been a huge achievement in my life, speaking to different customers every day is great and providing them with great customer service.I had never worked for a bank or had any financial background so it was huge jump working for Virgin Money but give me a new start and was great to learn how to the banking system. It was amazing for me to work for a company like Virgin Money who is all about looking after the customer, Virgin Money’s slogan is ‘Making you happier about money’ I believe this is so a bold and amazing statement and Virgin definitely do make their customer happier about money. It was amazing speaking with different customer every day and making them feel better about money and letting them know that their bank cares about them if they have anything going on we would see if we could support them in anyway.

Car Sales Executive

Gateshead, England, United Kingdom

At Evans Halshaw I am a car salesman who will deal with the public every day and sell and give them information about different Hyundai vehicles, I am also a Motability Specialist so I also deal with disabled customer to make sure I can get a car suitable for their needs and vulnerabilities. Being a car sales executive I was authorised and regulated by the FCA ‘Financial Conduct Authority ‘which makes me authorised to sell and talk to people about finance and finance products. I answer incoming and make outgoing calls every day, I also communicate via email and Microsoft Teams a customer is not able to come to the showroom or lives in another area. It is a very stressful job however it is very rewarding; it is rewarding to get great feedback from customers on how I have treated them and also kept them updated on the vehicle and how long it takes to arrive to our dealership.I would always go above and beyond for my customer, if the customer’s vehicle had arrived at our showroom but they were unable to pick the vehicle up in my own time I would deliver the vehicle myself as I know that once you order a brand-new car you are extremely eager to get the vehicle. I would also stay back late to make sure all my jobs were completed and also to complete a deal if a customer was unable to make it before we officially closed for business.

We got a new head chef which was very beneficial for me as he saw a lot of confidence in me promoted to a high role as a sous chef with more duties in the kitchen which included managing the pasta section, training chefs, chef rotas, ordering stock, stock control and also managing the kitchen team when he wasn’t there. I became a regular chef on the pizza oven as I was the only chef in the kitchen who could work on both sections in the kitchen. I felt privileged as I got given the opportunity to progress in such an amazing way with a great head chef.

Mâcot-La-Plagne, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France

After leaving college the best thing to progress my career and to learn was to work in a different country so I decided to work in France in a 4* hotel in the alps, I worked over the winter period in a skiing resort. When I worked in France the hotel would have 500-700 guests every week so it was very busy, I would work 12-14 hour shifts 6 days a week. Working such long hours got very tiring but got used to them very quick and they started to feel like a day's work. The menu was high class food and I had to cook it to a very high level. I started as a starter/larder chef, the head and sous chef seen potential in me so they moved me onto main courses to prepare and cook all the dishes on the menu. When it came to service, I got asked to be on the pass with the head chef to plate up all the main course dishes which I enjoyed and gave me experience to present food to a high level.
