John Guest is a leading producer of piping and plumbing. I led a small team of developers writing software in Zend Framework and complementary technologies such as JQuery. I have enhanced our chosen libraries with a whole range of components in order to allow our developers to quickly and reliably build systems. I have introduced new working practices such as weekly one to one meetings and new technologies such as AJAX and REST to both our new and legacy systems. I have mentored the junior developers. We are a successful team.Highlight would be architecting and leading the team developing a new MRP based ERP system to control inventory and manufacturing activities (JGMS). Key business benefits delivered included batch control of inventory with full traceability, “Live” MRP enabling up to date requirements to be fully visible, rough-cut capacity planning, kitting requests, SMED data capture and analysis, standard and actual costing functionality, outwork allocation and control, simple “dashboard” based presentation of data.
