I am the Founder, Director, and International Speaker for Armed For Life and a Published Author with Wiley Publishing.Armed For Life exists to develop resilience and improve mental health and well-being for people of all ages. We work primarily with schools addressing many areas where students, staff and parents struggle. Resilience, Anxiety, Mental Health and Positive Relationships are just some of the issues we address. This is achieved through long term programs consisting of qualified teams of nutritionists, psychologists and personal trainers as well as educational sessions - of which there are now 30 topics to choose from including The 5 Health Gauges, Reducing and Managing Stress, How to Get Better Sleep, Improving Self Esteem and more. Our work begun in schools but now has transitioned into the community working with many city councils and into the corporate space assisting staff to be their best.I have been speaking in schools for over 20 years now. I am incredibly passionate about the work that I do with youth of all ages because of my own experience at school. I struggled through Primary School - bullying started for me in Year 4 and by Year 7 my own friends were bullying me. Issues at home and at school lead me to struggle with mental health the entire 5 years of high school and having a suicide plan in place in year 10. I needed help and no one was there to give it - that is why we exist. We also run programs that are more long term based including the holistically based Overhaul Program (which includes a Nutritionist, a Personal Trainer and a Psychologist) designed to created long lasting sustainable change in all areas of health, and the Well-being Day that involves 1-8 team members covering all facets of Well-being through interactive and educational sessions that can manage anywhere between 100-600 participants at one time.In the 11 years Armed For Life has been presenting in schools we have work with over 1 Million students and over 500 schools in Western Australia. With 15 team members in 4-10 schools a week our reach continues to grow every year.
