With a passion for numbers, a strong business acumen, and an analytical mind, I’ve carved a path from small business owner to entrepreneur and company leader in under a decade. As a highly energetic and honest businessperson, I’ve been able to lean in to my authentic nature to earn the trust of clients and colleagues, resulting in a rapid climb into leadership positions for a number of financial enterprises. Back in 2014, I started my own used car business near my hometown of Rochester, New York. As owner and manager I wore many hats, such as supervising a sales team, sourcing products from all over the East Coast, fielding customer inquiries, keeping accurate books, and advertising the company on my self-created website as well as online marketplaces. My first foray into business was priceless real-world experience, yet I believed that higher education could accelerate my path forward, so I enrolled in the Rochester Institute of Technology as a finance student. My biggest takeaways were learning about organizational behavior, operations management, and the technologies that business owners and entrepreneurs utilize to foster growth and success. Eventually I longed to be in the center of the finance world, so I packed up my innovative spirit and forward-thinking mindset and moved to New York City. I landed at Crown Funding Source, helping the company secure funding for in-house and brokered deals while also optimizing marketing strategies, resulting in an uptick in hiring and an exponential increase in earnings. I then partnered with an entrepreneur who entrusted me with leading not only his main business, Better Accounting Solutions, but also two offshoots, K9 Bookkeeping and Factorfly. While an intimate knowledge of data, trends, and technology is essential, the business world is ultimately made up of people. The importance of nurturing and maintaining connections and relationships cannot be overstated. More often than not, I’ve been able to leverage my network in order to bring assistance, advice, and personnel to a growing business. In addition, my ability to learn quickly, internalize large amounts of information, and build trust and confidence has afforded me the opportunity to mentor others and help people advance in their own careers.
