As the General Manager of the Communications team working out of Australia and the Middle East, I was responsible for managing a highly talented team of 98 personnel to deliver ICT services to over 1500 people, and project managed the ADF’s largest deployed ICT upgrade in the Middle East.An important part of this role was to build the skills and knowledge of my team members with the focus on developing a customer-centre team culture, and the capabilities to provide a comprehensive service to our key stakeholder groups. I designed and implemented a modern training program for communications specialists that incorporated technical courses for upskilling, professional development courses designed around leadership and general skills courses such as First Aid.

Working as the Executive Officer in the Amphibious Land Force unit, I led a small team of communications experts to provide bespoke communication solutions, capable of encrypted strategic reach back to Australia and interoperability with intergovernmental agencies and key military allies. This involved developing project schedules, managing expense budgets and leading project teams, and providing direction, resources and logistical support to over 800 land and sea personnel.I further leveraged my project management skills by leading an initiative to gain situational awareness for the amphibious force.
