Adam Roberti serves as executive director of the Xavier Cortada Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to use socially engaged art to create meaningful experiences that inspire people to take collective action against our climate and ecological crises. Working closely with Cortada, a renowned Cuban-American artist who belongs to the Florida Artists Hall of Fame, Roberti manages large-scale, interactive eco-art initiatives such as the Reclamation Project and The Underwater – two projects featured in Cortada’s 2022 TED Talk. Through these ongoing public art interventions, he spearheads the foundation’s collaborations with local schools, parks, libraries, businesses, and governments to engage and educate vulnerable communities, helping them prepare for the climate crisis and motivating them to get involved in local policymaking. The work Roberti leads has been recognized by the United States’ 5th National Climate Assessment, the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.An author, filmmaker, and public speaker, Roberti shares his expertise through a combination of scholarly publications, short-form videos, and speaking engagements. His papers, featured in publications such as the Journal of Environmental Media and NORRAG Special Issue 09, explore the nexus of art, education, and environmental advocacy. Roberti’s videos, which have amassed over 100,000 views on Instagram and TikTok, extend his educational reach, while his presentations for esteemed organizations like Amnesty International, the National Wildlife Federation, and the Aspen Institute further his influence in shaping vital environmental dialogues.Roberti received a bachelors in Ecosystem Science & Policy and a master’s in Environment, Culture, and Media from the University of Miami, where he serves on an interdisciplinary research team specializing in climate migration and retreat. In 2023, he was recognized by the university as a “30 Under 30” honoree, selected as an Aspen Institute Future Climate Leader Fellow, and invited to Washington, D.C. as a delegate at the Local Conference of Youth USA.
