The Willing & Able Foundation is a fantastic organisation aiming to keep special people in meaningful employment. The Board of this Foundation has strategic oversight of 5 business units under management including a Laundrette & Valet Service, Op Shop, Woodwork & Assembly Service, Commercial Grounds Maintenance Service.

Initially purchased as a then boutique graphic design business, I re-built the business from the ground up and transitioned it into one of the largest Signwriting and wide-format Digital Printing businesses in the region in just 4 years. This business transformation occurred during the GFC which makes the achievement much more rewarding.

Specialist role, great experience working within a large corporate business.

Creating this business opportunity from scratch, I spent my time both working in the business and managing my sub-contractors providing commercial cleaning and builders cleaning. I scrubbed floors, washed windows and cleaned plenty of toilets myself along the way. I'm no stranger to rolling up the sleeves when required.

My role was as a carer for children with disabilities and behavioural disorders. The role required 24 hour long, live-in shift work, mainly in Western Sydney including Mount Druitt, Colyton, Penrith, Parramatta and also Campbelltown. This role was one of the most challenging roles I've ever undertaken but also one of the most rewarding. Links Youth & Disability Services at the time was a private firm contracting to DOCS.

Having already spent nearly four years working for Grifco in many roles, I was given my first opportunity to start-up a business unit. Starting the business from ground zero at such a young age was a great experience and provided many opportunities for me to learn the ropes in small business. GES ultimately provided electrical services to the industrial roller door industry between Wollongong and Newcastle and west to Muswellbrook.

My roles over four years included:Sweeping the floor & production line work.Production Line Manager (Despatch Division).Freight & Logistics Manager - servicing both Australia-wide domestic and international customers from Singapore, UAE, US & the Phillipines. Senior Management Team Member - weekly strategy meetings with the company owners.
