Network Operations Engineer
• Lead Operations Engineer responsible for using performance evaluation criteria and technical performance measures to include SolarWinds, Riverbed, and Cisco tools to manage CGOne worldwide network including over 1500 land, sea, and air assets and supporting real world search and rescue, drug interdiction, and national security missions of the US Coast Guard• Provided robust 24/7 tier 3 level support for escalations across the CONUS and OCONUS enterprise to include all SME level escalations for network failures and encryption equipment faults• Spearheaded system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts as the USCG Network modernized and adapted to current trends taking into consideration the unique mission• Translating high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements.• Troubleshot/implemented many different protocols and technologies to include OSPF/DMVPN/IAAS/BGP/Satellite/SpaceX/Radio/microwave• Last layer of escalation for issues with commercial providers such as Verizon Business and ATT who were the primary service providers; troubleshot complex issues between provider and USCG border• Maintained multiple state of the art Data Centers as senior network engineer to include Cisco Unified Communications Suite, Nexus Data Center switching, and VMWare solutions
