Journeyman System Operator- Monitor and analyze telemetry from 42 substations & 132 downline devices utilizing SCADA and outage management software. - Create switching plans for back feeds, restorations, & emergency switching. With those plans, I lead and synchronize all field personnel during circuit switching to ensure we safely execute the plans when moving substation loads to alternative feeds. - Coordinate daily communication with all field personnel via phone, radio, and email to help them resolve outages, troubleshoot problems, & synchronize operations during switching.- I also issue building alarm clearance codes to new employees and maintain the Operations Intranet Page. - In late October of 2021, I was asked to develop a knowledge of SCADA to assist during a software conversion. By mid-November I was given the responsibility of utilizing system RTAC data to build HMI’s for both Substations and Downline SCADA controlled devices. - Currently I am also responsible for creating new SCADA pages that show current Device Statuses, System Temperatures, as well as System Loading and Amperage pages. The latter are both by each Substation and Totaled. - Additionally I was tasked with creating a Power Graph showing MW, MVAR, MVA & Power Factor for each of the 42 Substations. Most recently I built an Instantaneous Current Graph for custom tailored for each of the 124 circuits on the grid. I am also creating a SCADA user manual specifically designed for System Operators.
