I have successfully implemented a comprehensive data governance strategy that promotes a culture of ownership and awareness regarding data integrity throughout the organization. By closely collaborating with architects and business analysts, I spearhead initiatives to integrate data from diverse source systems into a centralized data lake, thereby facilitating the development of a high-quality Unified Data Warehouse (UDW) for Business Intelligence dashboards and SSRS reporting. With proficiency in Collibra, Datactics, Master Data Services (MDS) and Accord Data Standards, I ensure data uniformity and accuracy, while effectively communicating complex data challenges and progress to senior leadership. I advocate for transparency, reconciliation, and proactive data-driven decision-making, which helps mitigate risks and enhances operational efficiency. In an environment where decisions are often based on poor data, my focus on comprehensive data governance prevents wasted resources, reduces reactive approaches, and safeguards brand reputation.

In my previous role at Liberty Specialty Markets within the Business Information & Analytics team, I prioritized broker reconciliations and the development of ETL processes to address data-related challenges proactively establishing data governance frameworks. Leveraging SQL, SSIS, Access, and Excel, I implemented innovative solutions to enhance data integrity and pre-emptively identify potential issues before they impacted the broader business community. I successfully led the integration of Data Quality (DQ) software into the organization’s data architecture, establishing automated rulesets that run daily to ensure compliance with governance standards and enhance data transparency. My contributions were pivotal in strengthening the organization's data governance framework, promoting accountability and a culture of data stewardship throughout the organization.

In November 2011, I joined the Personal Reserving Team as an Actuarial Data Analyst, where I focused on developing and maintaining critical ETL processes to ensure data governance. I established and managed the Motor and Household insurance data marts, facilitating the seamless integration of data into SQL databases using SSIS and complex SQL coding for effective data manipulation. Essential to my role was ensuring that this data reconciled accurately with other reporting systems; I implemented reconciliation code to detect variances and pinpoint errors or irregularities. Furthermore, I collaborated with the team to analyze data spikes and trends, enhancing our data narrative and supporting robust data governance practices within the organization.

As a Senior Data Analyst I was responsible for the maintenance of CRM systems and scheduling of activities for clients. My duties included database updates, extracts, reporting, support issue resolution, change request testing, input into system development and attendance at client meetings. I worked within a large team of analysts and with multiple clients, I was responsible for managing my own work schedules and ensuring that client deadlines and expectations were always met. Using SQL and Alterian on a daily basis I investigated and extracted data as specified for client campaigns and made recommendations on how campaigns can be improved once initial results are forecast.

My role as Data Content Manager involved liaising across the business with Sales Managers, Marketing Managers and Directors, where my responsibility was to ensure the integrity and functionality of data within the various databases in use. Managing two Data Analysts, I also interrogated and identified existing problems as well as pro-actively anticipating business issues within the databases. I put in safeguards and quality control procedures and once I identified an issue, I analysed the data and presented the challenge and the proposed solution to the board. My work was pivotal as the databases were used for lead generation and invoicing, my work as Data Content Manager was therefore linked directly to increasing revenue for the business and saving costs internally.
