I put the human in human-centered design. As a high EQ, empathetic, people focused systems thinker, I create novel solutions by understanding all the hands that will be involved in the manufacturing, assembly, installation and service of products. I’m devoted to understanding how I can create value by making technology that works for people. When I create designs and build products, I like to understand the context in which it will be used from a human perspective: When I build a controls module, who will be installing it and in what environment? Will they be wearing gloves? Maybe a backpack? Will they be tired or upset because it was hard to get to, even if I didn’t design that part of the system? What tools will they need? Who will be using it? Who will it work for? Finally, how can I make their life easier? These are considerations I naturally work into my designs by being a people-focused engineer. I have an innate curiosity for all things electrical, mechanical and thrive while new systems and applying technology to them. I am passionate about transportation, agriculture and food systems, additive manufacturing and space exploration; I dream to one day combine all these. On weekends, you’ll find me designing new control systems for commercial espresso machines, baking sourdough bread, volunteering at a local ranch or using designing new automotive parts for myself that can be 3D printed.
