Worked under the the supervision of Dr. Eleni Bardaka to investigate the effect of transportation improvements on transit accessibility for low income populations in the Research Triangle Region of North Carolina. Performed analysis of household travel survey data using Python and ArcGIS.Also worked on a project to assess the impact of light rail transit on residential property values in Charlotte, NC. Used Python and ArcGIS to clean and process county parcel sales, United States Census data, and created figures to communicate study context and preliminary findings.

Acted as the chief executive officer of the University of North Carolina Association of Student Governments, the Student Government of the University of North Carolina System. Served as the student member of the University of North Carolina Board of Governors, and as the student representative to the North Carolina Legislature and Governor of North Carolina. Promoted the student opinion on the Board of Governors, and pursued policy changes to better the experience of the 240,000+ students of the UNC System. Elected by delegates from each institution in the System that serve in leadership capacities in their respective student governments.

Served on a planning team of approximately 30 individuals tasked with articulating a vision for the Western Campus of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. The team, made up of school administrators, current and former faculty, local stakeholders, area business owners, and alumni worked to define an academic program that would maintain the school’s standard of excellence, select a site for the school’s physical location, and collaborate with local leaders to guide the relationship the school will develop with the local community.

Worked as a part of a 40+ member team responsible for assisting all incoming NC State students and families throughout their time at New Student Orientation. Underwent training between the months of January and May to better understand University resources, and to refine group facilitation, customer service, communication, and community building skills. Worked orientation sessions during the months of June, July, and August to assist new students and family in their transition to the University by helping them discover opportunities and resources, building community among their peers, and providing advice on how to ensure their transition was successful.

Worked closely with the Vice President of Budget and Finance for the Association to oversee the administration and distribution of a $225,000 budget funded by students from across the University of North Carolina. Primarily worked to answer questions from students interested in applying for grant funding through the Association, and worked closely with applicants from North Carolina State University and the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics to ensure applications were completed appropriately and that applicants were eligible for funding.

Supervised 21 senators, 19 of whom were elected by the student body and two of whom were appointed by the Student Body President. Was also responsible for the assignment and supervision of those 21 senators in five committees. Worked closely with the Student Body President, the five committee heads, Student Government advisors, and administrative figures to ensure that students' voices were being heard within Student Government and school administration. Tangible outcomes include a revised absence and tardy policy, an approved grant request for two additional water bottle filling stations on campus, and multiple updates to the organization's bylaws.

Was one of three student representatives selected by the Chancellor on the team that was convened to update NCSSM's five year strategic plan. In addition to serving on the larger team that recommended strategy updates, also served on a sub-team that researched and attempted to define "real-world learning" in the context of NCSSM's program, and recommended a strategy update to the larger committee.

Developed an independent project and worked with another researcher to investigate the effectiveness of shaped solar thermal collectors under multiple Fresnel lenses in a plane. Hypothesized that curved solar thermal collectors would show a consistent collector temperature regardless of the sun's angle of incidence. Results were ultimately inconclusive and deemed to need further investigation.
