I spent the formative portion of my career in banking, and mostly at Citibank Canada. My role evolved from marketing derivatives, to collaborating with peers providing other financial products, to managing a business unit. I learned to identify needs and deliver solutions, and how to collaborate with others so that they could do the same. My subsequent experience was as C-suite leader of, or advisor to, several of Canada's most successful families. My responsibilities ranged from asset allocation, fund selection and governance, to hands-on deal making (and workouts) in real estate, gaming, infrastructure, and private equity. Many projects were with corporate partners or other families, and I am proud of the investment results and relationships established.
