My knowledge, commercial and technical understanding of the mining and energy sectors has developed over a career spanning more than 20 years. I am a deal maker and commercial manager. The roles I have performed have directed my efforts towards the commercial negotiation, transaction and management of high value agreements for the supply of mining services, delivery of large capital projects, supply of power and water, negotiation and management of OEM contracts, progress of technology development, management of joint ventures and farm-in style agreements, and the acquisition of tenure. This experience is coupled with my comprehensive understanding of the economic drivers and technical inputs to site operations and mine planning.

Manager, Major Customers, Power GenerationAlinta Energy Apr 2015 - Jan 2020Sydney, Nsw, AuAs Manager of Major Customers for the Alinta Energy business, I had commercial responsibility for Alinta Energy’s key PPAs, GSAs, GTAs, network access agreements and various other related agreements. This was a significant responsibility – these Major Customer contracts provide around 30% of Alinta Energy’s business revenue, have significant length in contract term and underpin the financial viability of a number of key generation assets. In this role I led the contract negotiations and completed complex commercial transactions with Alinta’s largest mining and network connected loads (“Major Customers”) to support growth and power development for the business. I was responsible for the management of legal matters that arose in this space. These matters often involved the coordination of engineering and legal on complex, technical matters. I drove initiatives to manage risk, optimise performance, achieve compliance and maximise profitability. This frequently required the opening up and renegotiation of terms within long term contracts. Correct deal structure and a negotiated agreement on the sharing of value and risk was key to this. -
