Managed the city’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change impacts while supporting San Francisco’s growing economy. • Co-wrote 80-page climate action strategy for San Francisco that details path to meet ambitious greenhouse gas reduction goals (40% below 1990 levels by 2025), by increasing electricity generated from renewable energy sources, shifting transportation away from single occupancy vehicles, and achieving zero waste by 2020.• Convened 10 San Francisco agencies, including the port, airport, transit, public health, and water and power utilities, to launch citywide planning process for climate adaptation.• Represented San Francisco at Rio Earth Summit (2012) and related meetings in which leading cities from around the world shared best practices on climate policies. • Raised over $700,000 in new funds to support San Francisco’s climate, renewable energy, and green building programs.

Managed No on Prop. 23 campaign for E2 as part of large coalition of businesses, environmental, health and labor groups. Mobilized business support to defeat Prop. 23, a ballot measure that would have rolled back California’s clean energy and climate law. The decisive election victory (61% to 39%) sent a national message to boost the growing clean energy economy.
