As a law student employed by Aitken Robertson, I work alongside the lawyer responsible for the Kingston office and report to the founding lawyer, Richard Aitken, regarding large projects. I attend remand court on a weekly basis to act as an agent on behalf of our Kingston office's clients, typically to request an adjournment. During remand court I have been responsible for putting on record issues with obtaining disclosure from the Crown's office and with making contact with arresting officers. My responsibilities have also included reviewing disclosure and providing a report to my direct supervisor and assisting with client meetings, requiring both attentiveness to detail and interpersonal skills. I am frequently entrusted with research projects to assist with ongoing cases. My research has been used by our Kingston office to assist with negotiations with the Crown's office and with sentencing hearings. Production of case studies and blogs for the firm's website is done on an ongoing basis.

As a Customer Experience Associate at TD Canada Trust, my role was primarily one of customer service, problem-solving, confidentiality, and financial literacy.I provided service to customers of all backgrounds, ages, financial status, employment status, and genders. All incidents were recorded using standardized forms and were to include as much detail as possible.On multiple occasions, I was required to address issues of academic dishonesty with students during examinations, which necessitated a calm but authoritative demeanour. Examinations oversee included undergraduate final exams, welder certification testing, and the LSAT.

As the Graduate Assistant to Dr. Ron Hoffman in the department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, my role was one of assignment grading, exam invigilating, course instruction, and assisting students.I was assigned to assist with the following courses:-Introduction to Criminal Justice (1st Year)-Introduction to Criminological Theory (2nd Year)-Communications in the Criminal Justice System (3rd Year)-Policing and Vulnerable Populations (3rd Year)-Law and Society (3rd Year)Grading student assignments and exams required a high degree of organization, time management, confidentiality, and adhesion to ethical practices. The largest grading project undertaken was the marking of roughly 80 essays written by 2nd-year students, each an average of five pages. During my 2nd year as a Graduate Assistant, I provided frequent guidance to 1st-year Graduate Assistants regarding cases of academic dishonesty, ethical grading practices, and balancing the complex role of being both a student and a quasi-instructor and grader.

Such emergencies and concerns included student mental health risks, suicide attempts, physical fights, intrusion within the building, bear sightings near the building, and addressing high levels of noise and student intoxication. Additional responsibilities included in the senior position of Community Advisor were budget management, scheduling, addressing student misconduct, and overseeing weekly staff meetings. Alongside one Community Advisor Partner, I provided mentorship to a team of 11 Residence Don's, including both experienced and new staff.
