• Led project to develop push and web socket notification infrastructure for use across Clever products. ◦ Worked with security engineers and AWS engineers to architect and implement a scalable authorization solution for websocket clients built on AWS IoT. ◦ Wrote Go microservice and TypeScript library for receiving and sending notifications through websockets, enabling Clever’s Messaging team to ship new features and begin a migration from an expensive external messaging service to a cost-effective, scalable in-house solution. ◦ Architected systems built on AWS SNS for sending push notifications to mobile apps.• As team Frontend Lead, advocated for best practices and helped coordinate engineering org-wide goals and projects.• Proposed and led initiatives to enable stricter TypeScript settings for the main Portal codebase (150k LOC), increasing developer velocity and decreasing risk of bugs. • As part of a greenfield project to build Clever’s first product for parents, architected and developed a full-stack system for securely sending invitations to access child data through Clever, including writing a Go microservice with DynamoDB database, a Go async worker, and React UI.• Researched and helped establish best practices for Clever’s first GraphQL API.• Led project to implement real-time teacher-parent messaging in the Clever Family Portal while coordinating cross-team with engineers building teacher-student messaging in another codebase. ◦ Wrote technical specifications and reviewed React components used across both codebases. ◦ Built a mobile-responsive UI with React for messaging functionality in the Family Portal. ◦ Built a new Go microservice and updated existing endpoints to support new data retrieval patterns.
