▪ Managed the daily operations of a state-of-the-art device fabrication and testing laboratory, across a wide range of scientific equipment, including gloveboxes, spin coaters, 3D printers, semiconductor parameter analysers, atomic force microscopes (AFM) and more. ▪ Led the design, fabrication, and testing of novel biosensors for clinical applications, collaborating with the NHS and industrial partners to create a genetic testing platform. Developing a prototype biosensor for RNA mutation detection.▪ Managed the relocation of a 40m² fabrication suite. Liasing with contractors on design, equipment setup, commissioning, and safety to ensure a smooth transition during the move.

▪ Led the development and optimization of conjugated polymer nanoparticles for fluorescence applications for commercial markets including tracers, bio-imaging and diagnostics.▪ Developed new fluorescent nanoparticles, allowing Chromition to penetrate new market segments. ▪ Managed and supervised junior team members, fostering an environment of innovation and technical excellence.

▪ Research and development of state-of-the-art e-beam and photolithographic resists, positioning Sci Tron at the cutting edge of the industry. ▪ Developed and implemented the company’s Hazard Classification and Labelling (GB CLP) system, enabling the export of business-critical samples overseas. ▪ Collaborated with major partners, optimizing materials and deepening the company’s industry relationships.

▪ Developed strategic engagement plans to foster collaborations between the University and industry partners ranging from small businesses to large enterprises. ▪ Secured increased consultancy funding for the Faculty of Science and Engineering, contributing to the faculty’s financial and operational success. ▪ Created and maintained a business intelligence database and dashboard for identifying high-value collaboration targets.

▪ Conducted multidisciplinary research in organic electronics, polymers, graphene formulations, and wearable sensors. ▪ Increased collaboration opportunities within and outside the University by running and maintaining a suite of characterisation and processing equipment including printing capabilities at the Digital Fabrication Centre ▪ Played a key role in a £5m research project, contributing to several successful grant applications.▪ Supervised the research and successful thesis defence of 8 Masters and 3 PhD students. ▪ Established and maintained collaborations by managing a suite of characterization and processing equipment at the Digital Fabrication Centre, driving research opportunities within and outside the university.
