Ever since I started studying business studies in secondary education, I knew that was the subject I wished to take on in my professional career. Through management and business operations I found the specialty I wanted to pursue. As well as academic learning within school, I also found a keen interest in my part time job at the Armagh City Hotel, working alongside my father as a commis chef. From my education in school and further education, I was able to find how what I learnt could be applied within a hospitality setting. Through this kinesthetic learning technique, I was able to boost upon my academic learning. This resulted in learning achievement awards and high grades in GCSE and A Level. I am now currently in my second year of business studies at ulster university and have been working at the hotel for four years now. I like to see this as a show of commitment and interest in what I do. I have learnt so much and have gained so much experience in my field that I am now ready for my next step of becoming a professional member in a workforce through placement opportunities. Over these years I believe that I have built up a great collection of skills and qualities that are key to pursuing a career within business management and the hospitality sector.
