Managing the systems associated with COVID-19 Vaccination within the pharmacy site at Morpeth. Including managing staffing levels, staff training, appointment levels, appointment and booking systems, IT equipment and point of care systems, stocks and supply of vaccine and non-vaccine consumables, online presence, ensuring accessibility, meeting contractural requirements, liaising and working with the regional and national teams. Supervising day-to-day site operations, and also involved in the initial site set-up.

IT and Communications Lead for Wellway Pharmacy Limited, alongside website management for Central Ashington (Pharmacy) Limited - creating and managing a website (www.wellwaycentral.co.uk) with promotional images, material, up-to-date news posts, and creating bespoke registration forms for nominating the pharmacies and to register to services the pharmacies provide, such as 24-hour prescription collection. My expertise has also been used to set up and monitor corporate emails for the pharmacies, and manage the pharmacies’ online presence on social media and websites, with the use of social media advertising. Managing use of point of care systems used within the pharmacy, and monitoring communications with national and regional teams through NHS internal mail.

Working as a Medicines Counter Assistant and Dispensing Assistant in a busy pharmacy environment has demonstrated to me the importance of teamwork, alongside people skills whilst dealing with patients and customers. Roles I fulfil in the pharmacy include clinical roles such as dealing and interacting with patients regularly, advising patients on health issues and recommending over-the-counter medicines as a result, processing and preparing prescriptions, managing pharmacy stock (including date checking), dealing with orders from wholesalers, answering customer queries on the phone, and working alongside the other members of the pharmacy team to provide an exceptional quality of care to patients. From my work at the pharmacy, I hold a wealth of knowledge and skills in how a pharmacy operates, the ability to understand and follow SOPs, the use of the ProScript PMR system, and hold an NHS Smartcard. I am also experienced and trained in the configuration and running of the pharmacy’s Pharmaself24 Prescription Collection Machine.

Worked administering hundreds of vaccinations to patients - ensuring they understand the procedure and how vaccines work, double-checking their consent, and administering the vaccine to them, whilst providing appropriate aftercare advice. Have also worked as a locum vaccinator at a number of other Community Pharmacy-led vaccination sites.

Working as an unregistered vaccinator and Administrative Assistant on the Humber, Coast and Vale ICS staff bank for COVID-19 seasonal vaccinations, working over a number of different sites predominantly located in York and North Yorkshire.

Assisting representing the Department of Chemistry at University Open Days during June 2022; promoting the department, its research, and engaging with prospective students and their families. Ran a demo-stall promoting exploring everyday chemistry, giving a detailed overview of scientific principles covered in the course.

Throughout my work at Dobbies Garden Centres I have accrued a vast wealth of retail skills and knowledge. My primary role as Operations Customer Advisor, comprising of going the extra mile for customers - assisting with Customer Services enquiries, complaints, telephone calls et cetera, promoting the 'Dobbies Club' loyalty scheme, and working with the checkouts of the store, has demonstrated my empathy and friendly and approachable attitude.Working in other retail departments I have been trained and am experienced in shelf profiling, merchandising, pricing, and performing stock takes and gap-checks. My abilities and competencies with this have been recognised further through travelling to other Dobbies stores (e.g. Glasgow Braehead) to assist with the rollout of new Sainsbury's/Dobbies foodhalls, following plans and working together to build a mini-supermarket from the ground up.
