TVE have a strong multi-national blue-chip client base of recognisable household names. The company employs a team of 40 consultants across multiple sites.I had full control of the company IT infrastructure and budget responsibility, reporting directly to the board. As the only permanent on-site member of the IT team, my role was hugely varied.Primary Responsibilities• Fault finding and resolution:Client, Servers, Network, Remote Users• Routine maintenance:Domain Policy Management, Event logs, Storage, Antivirus, Backups, Perimeter Security, Switches, Email, Email Archiving/anti-spam/anti-virus, Cabling, WiFi, Remote access VPN, Mobile Device Management, Website hosting / Changes, HMTL Marketing Emails, IP Cameras & Streaming• Management:Third party suppliers - IT Consultancy, Telecoms Fixed / Mobile, ISP’s, Teleconferencing• Telephone system: Maintain / update users and functions• Purchasing: Hardware, Software and Services• Ad hoc: Installation, configuration and distribution of desktop/laptop machinesAchievements: • Reduced reliance on additional outsourced IT by half every two years, making substantial savings.• Identified the benefits of a unified communications package and redirected the savings from IT outsourcing expenditure to allow roll out of Skype for Business across the organisation, allowing the consulting team to collaborate on project work like never before.• Fully upgraded the company server infrastructure to a fully virtualised, multi-layer architecture, providing levels of future-proofing, system efficiency and redundancy a company many times the size would be proud of.• Migrated mobile device hardware & management from Blackberry & BES to Apple iPhones & AirWatch.• Upgraded workstations to allow for hot-desking – a huge benefit for a highly mobile workforce, where project teams are constantly changing.

Jointly responsible for supporting approximately 100 users at head office and computer systems at more than a dozen sites across the country at any one time. In addition, I had the responsibility of managing the IT systems at BDL's sister company Farmglade Limited - a land acquisition, property development and management firm with 10 employees.Primary Responsibilities:• Administration of servers - Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange, Active Directory, Blackberry Enterprise Server, Microsoft SQL Server.• Support of primary ERP & CRM applications: DEMA and HRPro.• Management of telephone systems - Avaya INDEX system at BDL, Mitel VOIP system at Farmglade, Group’s corporate mobile phone account with Vodafone.• Network Security - MIMEsweeper smtp anti-spam, defining Watchguard firewall & web blocker policy, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator Antivirus distribution.• Backups - Symantec Backup Exec.• Remote site offices – Fixed line & ADSL solutions or utilisation of Vodafone mobile broadband technology & VPN connections.Achievements:• Reduced costs and increased productivity by highlighting the suitability of Microsoft Sharepoint foundation as an intranet solution, assisting in its implementation by developing custom modules to replace outdated and woefully inadequate paper based COSHH reporting system & document library.• Implemented a complete user systems upgrade at Head Office, replacing desktop computers and upgrading all workstations with flat screen monitors.• Responsible for the co-ordination of re-wiring, terminating and patching of the cable network prior to office building refurbishments.• Worked alongside branding consultants to implement their designs for Farmglade’s subsidiary company ‘Fern Leaf Homes’ website, slashing the cost of the project and allowing complete retention of creative control.
