I am a Champion of Change and Innovation. I am never satisfied with doing something “because that’s the way we’ve always done it”.I started my career working for a Mechanical Contractor in the Planning Department, knowing next to nothing about how the construction industry works. Over the next decade, I would work myself up to become the Manager of the BIM/Planning Department. During that time, I was in charge of the MEP BIM coordination on multiple projects where I prided myself on not experiencing schedule slip that is synonymous with many coordination efforts.In my current role at an Electrical Contractor, we work heavily with Autodesk software, and I am the go-to for technical questions issues and how to do things. Always with an eye towards efficiency, I often review new software to see how it can fit into our workflows and make us better. We are always looking to sharpen the saw rather than only waiting for the slow times to retool.My latest passion is automating workflows with Dynamo. I have empowered our VDC Specialists to suggest new tools and enhancements to existing ones, with overwhelmingly positive feedback. I have recognized that there is so much that Dynamo can do OOTB and with custom packages but learning how to program in Python has increased my abilities ten-fold. Being able to access the Revit API has made our future development of tools seem limitless.
