I am a sociable character with a friendly nature who is able to make people feel comfortable in many circumstances. As a caring individual I always prioritise the success of the whole group over the success of one individual. Enjoying many physical activities such as football, rock climbing, and diving, this allows me to perform in various team environments. I have had a transnational upbringing, I lived in Cyprus, Lebanon, Malaysia, Ireland, the UK, and Australia, this enabled me to gain exceptional communication skills with people of many different backgrounds. These experiences have helped me work efficiently to achieve common goals with people of many cultures and backgrounds.My scientific career began in a research assistant position at the National University of Ireland Galway. This position was hands on and from this I was given the opportunity to manage the build of a 40,000 litre recirculating aquaculture system. Moreover, I established a micro algae laboratory and a European lobster hatchery including building appropriate hatchery systems. Now I am PhD student investigating the amino acid requirements of juvenile Tropical rock lobster at the University of Tasmania in the Institute of Marine and Antarctic Science. I also have experience in the medical profession having worked at the Diving Disease Research Centre in Plymouth, this is a hyperbaric treatment centre where I worked as both a chamber operator and attendant for 3 years. This position taught me how to work well in a high pressure environment and developed my communication skills as communication with the team needed to be clear and concise, and communicating to patients needed to be calming and caring. Moreover, this position gave me an appreciation of health and safety and SOPs.
