I worked as a tech lead focusing on front end technologies such as React, NodeJS, Docker, AWS, and GraphQL (Apollo) and transitioned into a management role for a front end team building the Expenses web experience. I facilitated cross discipline collaboration and planned engineering roadmaps.

I mentored and coached new developers as college graduates (typically). I reshaped the hiring process by expanding the hiring pool to bootcamps and created a shared interviewing guideline that helped pipeline hiring decisions. I collaborated with teams and each individual graduate to tailor a year of rotations that established fundamental skills through mentorship and finally placed them with a best fit team for their career goals.

In 2015 I delved into the back end to contribute to our C# codebase and tweak SQL tables. I helped create a selenium project built on NodeJS and webdriver.io.I created and maintain BFFs (backend for frontend) that proxied between mobile/web clients and various micro services. Built with NodeJS, ExpressJS, and GraphQL, the BFF's role is to aggregate services, manage cache and provide a clean client API.Mid 2016 I joined a new team to build our next generation Expense Claims feature set, which includes web/mobile apps that integrate across Xero. I led the front end development with a new React, Redux and GraphQL tech stack.

I worked on the Payroll team to build a simple, intuitive experience. We relied heavily on Knockout's data binding and structured our application with Durandal. There's a large collection of web components built with jQuery, Bootstrap and Knockout.

I worked with an enterprise application group using Scrum methodologies to develop software. I used backbone.js, jQuery, handlebars, requirejs, bootstrap and less to build manage.autodesk.com.Applied previous unit test experience to bring JavaScript unit testing to a testless frontend code base with Jasmine and Sinon. Instrumented tests for CI using grunt.js.Collaborated with UI developers to implement an event-based architecture that improved the developer experience. Coordinated with backend developers to design and establish new REST APIs.
