Understanding user needs, defining the MVP, developing a product concept, conducting user testing, and documenting high-level features. • Delivered the Self Assessment and Simple Assessment projects which enabled users to view and manage their tax bills within the mobile app, providing a clear breakdown of tax owed and payments made. • Integrated the open banking mobile payment solution by collaborating with cross-functional teams to allow Self Assessment and Simple Assessment users to pay their tax bills seamlessly through their mobile phone. • Enhanced the HMRC take-home pay calculator to include student loans, postgraduate loans, and pension contributions. Collaborated with the development teams to define complex tax rules and logic and create a Kotlin multi-platform library for accurate calculations. • Contributed to the development of the mobile app component library, ensuring alignment with GDS standards for a consistent and user-friendly design, incorporating accessibility features to ensure WCAG compliance.

The key business objective is to reduce contact to HMRC help services via non-digital methods. The app is available to both iOS and Android users.Since joining the core mobile app team I have been the Lead Business Analyst working on delivering enhancements to the app, including: • Delivering mobile payments through Open Banking for Self Assessment taxpayers. • Delivering a component library to enable faster development and more consistent app experience for users; following the native app standard guidelines for iOS and Android platforms. • Ensuring the new components are accessibility tested for users who require assistive technology such as screen readers or enlarged text. • An enhanced experience for users who view the PAYE and Tax Credits information via the app, with SSO links to the website where further information is required. • Updates to the Tax Calculator to give the user more options and a clearer delivery of results. • Migration to using Google Tag Manager for app analytics.
