Adam is an Area Bishop in the Diocese of Chelmsford covering the southern half of Essex, with about 1m people, 2 Archdeaconries, 180 churches, 130 clergy and loads of schools. This Area is known as Bradwell, named after the location of a lively chapel where, in the 7th century, St Cedd travelled from Lindisfarne to establish a mission to the East Saxons. Please pray for God’s mission in this place today. Adam’s priorities are prayer and peacemaking. He carries responsibilities including with community organising in the Diocese. He undertakes governance in a few organisations and is also involved in projects including one to encourage more leaders in the Church from a wider variety of backgrounds. Adam writes poetry and has a book due for publication with two colleagues by Canterbury Press in early 2024.

St Peter's Bethnal Green is an Anglican parish community church in the heart of the old and new East End of London. St Peter's Bethnal Green is a laboratory of civil society, focussing on employment, health and creativity. There is a pulsating mix of 'show and tell' activity emanating from this anchor institution in its local community, including a co-working space, employment skills training, a registered parish nurse, an artists collective and deep involvement in broad-based community organising.St Peter's was the first church plant from St Paul's Shadwell, part of a church planting movement originating from Holy Trinity Brompton and enjoys being one of a diverse range of churches in Tower Hamlets, East London, UK. There's more to the church than Sundays but it describes itself as 'cross-tradition', running a 10am Sung Eucharist in an Anglo-Catholic tradition, an 11am family service with kids groups and contemporary feel and a 5pm informal free worship service aimed at young adults. The location of the church in the community is significant, with long term social housing residents and newly arrived private tenants and home owners living cheek by jowl; the famous Colombia Road is in the parish, Brick Lane, Broadway Market and Weavers' Fields are all a short walk away. As The Sunday Times said of the area as St Peter's was restarted in 2010: 'if you want to witness the world's most diverse city in unstoppable action, dive in' to Bethnal Green.
