As part of Mott Macdonald my role is to complete and coordinate the mechanical design of clean water and waste water treatment infrastructure projects around New Zealand. As part of my role I have assisted with design coordination, document control subcontract engagement and estimating.

As part of MMB (Mott Macdonald Bentley) my role was to complete, and project lead the mechanical design of wastewater treatment projects for the United Utilities AMP6 framework. As part of my role I assisted with project management duties, estimates, document control, procurement, and commercial management. I also had additional responsibilities as a Project Safety Advisor for several MMB projects on the framework.

As part of the water division my role was to assist with bids (including EOI’s, tenders) for submissions. This included writing content, assisting with estimating, providing technical expertise and various other tasks to ensure the bid was completed on time, to a high quality, and to allocated budgets. This involved assisting in both maintenance and construction submissions. As part of this role I was also required to assist in business development which included market research and data analysis of prospective projects to ensure a healthy pipeline was available for the business unit.

As a graduate engineer with Lend Lease's water division I was involved with the graduate program where I was given the opportunity to work in a range of different work situations including site work, design and tendering. My position in the company was to learn about the various areas of engineering (specifically within the water industry). This included working and gaining experience in site engineering, safety, quality control, environmental engineering, commissioning/handover, tendering, business development, and design and asset maintenance.

As part of Adbri Masonry my position was to select key capital projects that would increase the rate of production of key plants for the company. This work included bulk materials (e.g. storage hopper conceptual design) and areas of manufacturing such as factory layout. As part of this role I was also required to find solutions to bottle necks in production. These projects were across Australia which involved working on site in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland. I presented my key selections and findings to my supervisor.
