After High School I served in the United States Marines for 5 years with two tours in Iraq. My occupation while in the military was an Avionics Technician with a focus on rotory wing aircraft (helicopters). Typical components I might have seen on a normal day would be Automatic Fligh Control Systems (AFCS), flight sticks, navigational displays, control panels, and almost anything that had a wire inside of it. Even engines and batteries came through our shop.After the Marines I directly found myself in a position as a maintenance technician working on a variety of machinery. Although not aircraft, my knowledge of basic electrical and electronics, as well as my ability to troubleshoot and read schematics made me a good candidate for this line of work.I have been doing this type of work for the most part of 3 years, with a few months in the field of electrical constuction for the residential, commercial, and industrial fields. My dream and passion however has always been IT, and it is something that I have been doing on my own since I was at least 13 years old.
