For its first project, he served as writer, producer and director of the HBO film "Claude Lanzmann: Spectres of the Shoah," an Academy Award®-nominated documentary on the life and work of maverick filmmaker and French iconoclast Claude Lanzmann. The film had its world premiere at the Hot Docs film festival in Toronto and its European premiere at Sheffield Doc/Fest in England, before going on to play more than 30 international film festivals throughout 2015. It was nominated for IDA, Cinema Eye, Grierson and Canadian Screen Awards, as well as many other international accolades. It is now in the permanent collection of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. In addition to HBO in the States, the documentary was acquired by numerous international broadcasters, including ZDF for Germany, ARTE for France, CBC in Canada, Channel 1 in Israel, NPO2 in Holland, SVT in Sweden, TVP in Poland, YLE in Finland and DR TV for Denmark.Following the success of "Spectres," Jet Black Iris is now in development on its first feature film.
