Program created new pathways for Americans to experience global diversity of contemporary Islamic artistic expressions by introducing audiences to exciting and dynamic artists from Muslim societies.HIGHLIGHTS:-Designed and managed international cultural engagement projects cross U.S. communities for musical ensembles and filmmakers, from contemporary Muslim societies, including Pakistan, Morocco, Turkey and Malaysia-Provided direct oversight of $1.25M privately funded project budget-Reviewed and approved program budgets, calendars, expenses, and final reports for all projects and services associated with program-Produced multiple-week international residency tours across the U.S., negotiating all contractual agreements, hiring and managing staff, designing and managing full itineraries and schedule, and providing on-site tour support -Built relationships between Caravanserai artists, advisors, funders, partners and communities, managing complete communication network to ensure successful and thoughtful project implementation-Arranged and negotiated terms for work-for-hire contracts with international vendors for project support services and materials, including photography, video shoots, graphic design, and visa applications-Wrote and filed narrative and financial project status reports as required by project funder -Reported to Arts Midwest Board of Directors on project development and outcomes-Represented Arts Midwest through presentations at national and regional conferences and meetings

OVERVIEW:Directed collaborative global cultural initiative project for the U.S. Department of State, National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), and U.S. Embassy in Cairo to deepen cultural understanding and dialogue between Egyptians and Americans by bringing stakeholders together and encouraging citizens to share literary traditions.HIGHLIGHTS:-Oversaw $350K U.S. State Department Grant for international cultural exchange program. Led strategic planning, RFP processing, participant and vendor selection, grant management, project management, budgetary analysis and reporting, marketing and communications. Managed website development, media communications and press/public relations management-Planned and conducted site visits across Egypt in close consultation with the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, U.S. State Department, and NEA. Delegation led by NEA Chairman and U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for Educational and Cultural Affairs -Planned and directed all aspects of U.S. program orientation for Egyptian program partners-Managed international and U.S. travel arrangements, catering contracts, orientation speaker and panel agenda, materials, multiple city site visit planning and execution, and coordination of participation of U.S. and Egyptian partner community representatives, U.S. State Department, NEA, and Arts Midwest staff-Additional role as Supervising Producer for The Big Read Film Project (2007 – 2010) and Supervising Producer for the Operation Homecoming Film Project (2006 – 2007)
