My role as the Community Development Director, for the City of Banning, is to provide effective and efficient municipal services with a friendly and business-forward attitude. During my five years in the private sector, keeping projects on time and within budget was key to overall economic growth. Treating government services like you would treat customers in the private sector is the only method to ensure a city succeeds in growing new and vibrant communities. Throughout my ten year career at the County of Riverside Planning Department, I developed a strong background in Community Planning and Environmental Compliance. My experience includes Transportation and Community Planning activities as well as long range strategic plans. I graduated from Claremont McKenna College (CMC) with a dual bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Philosophy and went on to graduate from Claremont Graduate University with a Master’s in Public Policy and American Politics.In my ten year career at Riverside County, my major projects included Spencer’s Crossing (French Valley Specific Plan) in unincorporated Temecula and The Villages of Lakeview Specific Plan, which is new community of approximately 12,000 units and 500,000 square feet of mixed use commercial. My experience with strategic and long-term planning is also extensive. I managed the development of Riverside County’s first Climate Action Plan and was liaison to the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) for implementation of near zero and net-zero vehicle fuel technologies. In addition, I am a member of the Mobile Source Resources Committee (MSRC) through the SCAQMD, which provides funding and technological assistance to both public and private industries through the conversion of existing gasoline fleets to alternative fuel technologies.In addition to my planning career, I was elected to the 1st City Council for the City of Eastvale in 2010 and had the honor to serve as the first Mayor of my new city.
