As assistant plant manager, I order and receive all domestic materials coming into the plant. Also, help oversee our powder coating line to provide direction on colors and prioritize production. Most importantly, planning and looking ahead to keep welders ahead of powder coating to stay ahead of finished goods production. I am a shipping and receiving supervisor at Davis Furniture Industries, in High Point, NC. My main responsibility is the oversight of 3 to 4 team members, packaging and making sure freight is loaded correctly. Also, purchasing all packaging material and janitorial supplies. Previously, I was the warehouse team lead at Hightower Group, LLC. I lead and gave daily direction to a team of 6 members. We were able to control inventory and slash inaccuracies from 15% to 1% within one year while handling $3 million worth of goods.My biggest strengths are the ability to multi-task, plan, attention to detail, and common sense thinking. All of these aspects have helped me succeed in both my current role and previous role. We were able to cut down on inventory inaccuracies by planning for the goods coming in and checking them as they were being put away. Planning and attention to detail have been beneficial in my current role by minimizing incorrect items shipped, as well as making sure we have enough boxes and packaging materials when needed.When not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children. Also, I am an avid golfer and love to play any chance I get.
