Currently a Senior Lecturer for the BSc (Hons) Games Development degree at the University of Suffolk.Alongside teaching on the Games Development degree, we also offer a significant amount of innovative research activities that puts our students on the cutting edge of the games industry. Whether that would be working on projects directly related to games for entertainment (e.g. games UI/UX design projects) or transferring those skills to other disciplines that use games technology, such as Games for Health and MedTech, EdTech and similar. Our fantastic cohorts over the years have graduated from University of Suffolk with both the skills to enter the games industry, and with innovative mindsets for the development of new technologies and creative features. Our unique Pathway system is situated such that learners can understand the various roles within industry, and to tailor their experience to best suit their intended career path. For example, learners may wish to pursue a career as a Games Designer and so our pathway system gives them this flexibility to choose games design oriented classes. Similarly, learners wishing to pursue a career as a Games Programmer would embark on the games programming pathway.Aside from my duties for the BSc (Hons) Games Development degree at University of Suffolk, my research activities include investigating human vision and eye movement behaviour, game science, games for health, and games for education. I frequently attend game jams, and am a volunteer at University of Suffolk as a site organiser for the annual Global Game Jam.
