Acted as global backbone capacity lead engineer, developed standardized network deployment processes for global backbone capacity. I also partnered with a new team focused on optical networks @Meta, initially we would buy leased waves for our backbone, and this is when we started developing our own plans for a global optical network. I supported the development of an oob management network to manage all console, oob, and optical management, supported optical deployments with Ciena, and Infinera worldwide, as well as subsea deployments on our own submarine cables we had built just for @Meta, and I helped deploy WDM capacity between Singapore and various parts of ASIA.When network engineering decided they wanted to separate user traffic from data center traffic, I developed and executed the plan and partnered with them to engineer a new type of backbone called express backbone, I consulted on unequal upstream multi-path situations using BGP auto-bandwidth communities, and some automation scripting, developed the deployment plan, and lead the deployment of express backbone in all initial regions in the US and EU.Developed and executed plans to implement pop midpoint express backbone locations to re-groom subsea and key US transit points, as well as expanding the express backbone from a 4 plane topology worldwide to an 8 plan topology, adding 4 new backbone nodes to each region and splitting all capacity 8 ways uniformly in all regions during 4 maintenance windows without any sort of outage or packet loss.Started partnering with Network Engineering teams @Meta to architect and influence network design inside Data Centers and the backbone. Developed various automation tools, helped maintain a substantial codebase of tooling, and developed EOS extensions for the cli for our open/r routing protocol used on the express backbone.

Senior network engineer, traveling and supporting expansion of data center networks and infrastructure worldwide. Supported global backbone and data center network builds throughout the US, Europe, and Asia. Worked with hardware engineering teams to develop custom Facebook network platforms specific to the needs of cloud and carrier systems running 40/100G network technology. Collaborated and developed test plans for various stages of the development process from inception in labs to production in data center regions.During product development I met with our sales team and Martin Hull from Arista in ireland onetime, and that meeting lead to Arista joining the Open Compute Project with Facebook, and developing the modular 7280 platform, based on our very own hardware design. This was a huge win for both companies and developed a partnership pushing the industry further then it's ever been before in adopting more open hardware and software platforms, and pushing packets beyond 400G.

When customers experience trouble, I often reach out directly to ensure that they are getting the support they need. I supported a sales rep in Omaha, growing the business in North Central from virtually ZERO annual revenue to a sales book over nearly 4 years of $15+ million a year in business.
