At the age of sixteen in 1987 I started off my career as an apprentice overhead linesman with Eastern Electricity carrying out numerous roles with them, mostly within the new connections department. This gave me an early introduction into customer relations and project management. After 11 years with EEB and becoming one of their youngest SAP's, I decided to spread my wings (pun intended) and go it alone.In 1998 I undertook my first helicopter power line inspection and have never looked back. 26 years later and some 16,000+ flying hours, I have inspected over 500,000km of overhead lines networks throughout the UK and Ireland. One of the most rewarding periods in my career with PDG Aviation to date was to help develop our mobile data capture software that we use to collect asset information. This enabled me to learn a new skill set in GIS, one of which I am still progressing further.I am currently the Utilities Division Manager for PDG Aviation, so please feel free to contact me to see how we can help you mange your assets.

  On joining PDG Helicopters to manage their Power Line Division, Adam's role as senior observer soon developed into managing contracts and winning new business. New observers were trained in house and Adam switched from spending time flying in the helicopters where he had gained invaluable experience and knowledge, into learning new skills such as GIS to push the development of PDG Helicopters custom built mobile data gathering software.As well as manipulating GIS files for new projects and keeping existing ones updated, Adam project manages all the power line inspection contracts for PDG Helicopters worth in excess of £1.5m.
