From a young age I've always been fascinated by the game of cricket, especially the longer form of the game: 5 day test cricket. The strategic endeavour to win over five days against a known adversary whilst dealing with the uncontrollables (who wins the toss, what will the pitch play like, what impact will the weather have?). The toil of individuals trying their best to contribute to a high performing team, the one on one battles within the overall battle and the changes of tactics to try and achieve a winning result, which could also end in an honourable draw, or a loss that you learn from. Whilst still an avid cricket watcher, now that I have long finished playing social cricket; it is perhaps of little surprise that I have unearthed a new highly strategic hobby, the art of slow cooking over charcoal! In my business world I have gravitated toward the areas of transformation and change and how to marry the art of working with great people and cultures, process and data to effect change and make it effective. From working in leadership roles in corporates like banks and global FMCG and now leading an exciting digital scale up business to also being involved with a start up with huge potential, the journey continues to be enthralling and I can't wait to see the results and plot the next path forward.
