Brought on board by the Founder and CEO to lead all Engineering activities. Steered a team of 6 Engineers to deliver a full re-architecture of Quantum's core SAAS analytics and replay toolset as well as a one-of-a-kind native iOS capture library. Oversaw all product development and technical support as we grew ARR by 300% and quadrupled team size in one year. Assisted in raising $25MM Series A funding round, led by Insight Partners.

- Moved all ShopAtHome source code from TFS to Git while maintaining 4+ years of granular source history on close to a million version-controlled files. Engineers immediately took advantage of nonlinear workflows, leading to shortened development times, more concurrent work and fewer bugs in production.- Migrated infrastructure from our colocation facility to the Microsoft Azure cloud. Resulting in 25% reduction in YOY spend and more consistent environments.- Consolidated build landscape and dropped average build times by 50%, by moving from on-prem TFS to cloud-hosted Jenkins for every build, spanning .NET, iOS, Android, Chrome, Firefox and Safari codebases.- Shifted NCache session state and in-memory data caching to Redis, eliminating $12K/year in licensing costs and reducing Azure VM costs by as much as $50K/year.- Improved Android daily average ratings by more than a point using Google best practices including Smart Lock, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Espresso UI tests, Data Binding and ConstraintLayouts. - Revamped iOS app through a ground-up Swift rewrite yielding a 3% decrease in crash rate, down to 0.5%.- Reimagined team process from TFS-based Scrum to Jira-based Kanban, greatly streamlining the flow of tasks in all phases from feature conception through release.

- Used Java, Kotlin, Objective-C and Swift to create the native iOS and Android ShopAtHome apps.- Architected native HTTP, image loading and data caching frameworks for both mobile platforms, resulting in faster app startup, lower data usage and less battery drain.- Introduced first Jenkins build server and authored CI, QA and Release builds with automated deployments to TestFlight and a web-accessible APK library, resulting in earlier notification of build breaks and test failures with less manual developer steps and more consistent deliverables flowing into the app stores.- Authored server-side APIs in ASP.NET Web API and T-SQL in order to feed data to the mobile apps. Maintained sufficient generality for these APIs to be frequently re-used by the website and browser extensions, saving precious developer hours and adding value to other products through reuse.

- Worked on a large capital project; creating a new web-based project estimation tool. This resulted in the consolidation of several legacy tools and greatly streamlined the company’s basis-of-estimate process.- Acted in a technical leadership role by breaking down Product requirements into logical features and detailing them with technical specifications, estimates, priorities and personnel scheduling. This resulted in a steady stream of feature completion and incremental wins throughout the duration of the project.- Developed across full stack from database scripting through front-end UX design and implementation.- Used HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, JSON and AJAX to create a responsive and modern user experience.

- Designed internal web applications using ASP.NET MVC, WCF Web Services and JQuery, leading modernization efforts away from old standards of SOAP and Web Forms.- Created Visual Studio Web Test projects to run during nightly builds, catching bugs earlier in the software lifecycle and leading to more consistent applications.

- Maintained existing C++ components within product codebase while exploring C# 2.0. Introduced the division’s first interoperable .NET features, kicking off modernization of a decade-old C and C++ codebase.- Designed and implemented proof-of-concept ASP.NET/AJAX web services and applications, leading to the release of a .NET ClickOnce installer that greatly simplified the installation of remote management agents.

- Authored and executed large-scale software test plans for industry leading enterprise data protection applications such as VERITAS Replication Exec and VERITAS Backup Exec.- Developed several Java applications used for stressing the performance bounds of products under testing. These tools automated existing manual scripting tasks and produced much higher simulated loads.
