Adam’s first business began all the way back in high school, a love of computers saw him buying computer parts, assembling them in his bedroom and then reselling them on the Trading Post. This quickly turned into him building & selling 6 a week, leading to his first successful exit - selling this business to an old high school pal, which gave him a small taste of what was to come.Unfortunately, his second attempt in business wasn’t as successful, a recording studio and record label that never really took off. However, this did lead him onto his next venture called CARDPro which he started from his bedroom in 2003 much like his Computer business.Perhaps this was the secret sauce, as this soon became a world-leading card manufacturer globally.They had plants in Shenzhen, China and Melbourne, Australia with over 220 staff, producing 110 million plastic cards per year, for the likes of Medicare, Visa, Mastercard, David Jones, European Parliament and many more.Due to the companies significant growth, this led to Adam winning the Australian Chamber of Commerce’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2007 and runner-up in 2013.After many successful years running CARDPro, the organisation was then acquired by a multinational 200-year-old company called American Banknote Corporation in 2014.Once the acquisition was completed, Adam moved to Kuala Lumpur with his family and began planning his return to business.And so, in 2015 he launched 121 Group, a full-service digital agency to help other companies specifically now in the health care sector leverage the strategies and techniques that he used to grow CARDPro.After going through an acquisition himself and seeing the many benefits, Adam also acquired 3 other agencies (Search Insights, Brand One and Nerdster) which have been merged into 121 Group.On top of his passion for marketing, Adam also recently started working on Project Maximum, a social enterprise dedicated to spreading awareness about mental illness, coping mechanisms, addiction, and suicide prevention.A cause close to his heart, given this has touched his close family.He now spends his time as Managing Director of both organisations, leading the teams and strategic growth of both organisations.To find out how you can work with Adam, send him a message on LinkedIn or email him at: adam@121group.io
