Head Of Sales, Emea
Current
Institutional Equity Sales
Covering SMID and Large Caps to Long Only and Hedge Funds. Account management of complex accounts. Just covering UK equities. Helped develop clean energy coverage; conferences on Battery/Electric vehicles and Hydrogen. Discussions with corporates on ESG strategies.
Managing Director: Head Of Sales London To Uk Clients
Responsible for production and managing the sales team, taking responsibility for the London P&L, staff retention and hiring, mentoring, marketing, Mifid negotiations, ECM discussions, etc. Helping to develop the ESG strategy within research coverage and cross selling ESG into other investment products. Pitching to French companies to road show in London, running the French SMID London equity conference. Meeting main board French managements, capital raising, discussing their strategy, ESG Strategy, introduction to new shareholders.
Head Of Pan European Equity Sales
Joined as a salesperson to rebuild the existing client business and drive new business generation. Brought my existing clients and developed new accounts. Six months into my role, the head of sales left, and I was asked by the Head of Equities to manage the Pan European Sales teams. The business lacked focus, sales process unstructured and there was no client relationship management. I implemented new practices and management across the sales force. Client ratings improved from 15th to Top 3. I also introduced new technology to help monitor client flows, client feedback, etc, for the business to be more active in “block” trading. As a result, we carried out two profitable block trades, each over $300m. After two years the business was generating very credible revenues following substantial losses (Nomura bought the Lehman European business). Given this the management decided to exit the European equity markets.
Managing Director
Covering All Cap to Long Only and Hedge Funds. Account management of complex accounts. Also covering various Alpha Capture accounts. Meeting main board managements, capital raising, discussing their strategy, introduction to new shareholders.
Managing Director
Joined ex colleagues to rebuild the equity business which had struggled post the GFC. Brought my existing clients which was incremental to the business. Helped drive further client growth with complex accounts, working with different business areas to provide “solutions”. Further opportunity at RBS was the potential to help develop the corporate side of the business given the lending relationships. Meeting main board management teams (CEO/CFO) to advise on raising capital, strategic advice, introduction to new shareholders. During my time at the company rankings in the business rose to 8th from 15th/ Top 3 small caps. Left the business because of the equity business being closed.
Managing Director
Approached by JPM to be part of the management team to run the Pan European equity business/ sales. Business was strong in investment banking but very weak in secondary equities. Repositioned the business focusing on building new clients, revenue progression from existing accounts, branding, marketing, sales process, etc. Pan European equity rankings went from 19th to No 1 in 3 years – this was client ranking, external surveys, and revenue generation. Managing the sales and account management process to Long Only, Hedge Funds and Alpha Capture. Clients were based in the UK, Europe, and Middle East. I ran the equity mentoring process, setting sales and business targets, resource allocation, marketing, product management, etc.
Managing Director
Built a leading client institutional business – ranked No 1 in Pan European equities. Covering Long Only, Hedge funds and Alpha Capture. Led the client account management process of complex institutions. Initiated and implemented the selling of all Equity and related products to clients across the firm – providing complex “solutions” to institutions – personally generating highest revenues across equity and related products. The CEO of capital markets later asked me to implement this across Fixed Income. Meeting major company CEO/ CFOs with a view to raising capital, strategic advice, introducing to new shareholders.
